Kenosha police are searching for a woman they describe as a person of interest after a 67-year-old man was found dead inside a south-side home late Friday morning. Officers were called around 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, to a residence in the area of 75th Street and 60th Street, where they discovered the man deceased.
Detectives have identified 45-year-old Matrice Role as an acquaintance of the victim and say she is being sought in connection with the death. Role is described as about 5 feet 3 inches tall, roughly 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
According to the Kenosha Police Department, investigators believe Role may still be in the Kenosha area or in a nearby community, as reported by FOX6 News Milwaukee. Officials say anyone who sees her should call 911 immediately. Tips can also be directed to the Kenosha Police Detective Bureau at 262-605-5203. FOX6 reports that this information was provided by the Kenosha Police Department.
Police ask residents not to approach
Investigators are emphasizing safety as the search continues. Police are urging residents not to attempt to detain or confront Role if they spot her. Instead, they are asking witnesses to contact 911, then preserve any photos, videos or other evidence that could assist detectives.
Officers say they will follow up on all credible tips as the investigation moves forward.
Area has seen recent violent incidents
The alert comes as Kenosha continues to confront a string of violent incidents in its neighborhoods. On Feb. 4, a shooting near Library Park left a 16-year-old dead, according to WISN 12 News. Community leaders have said the recent cases have heightened worries about safety in residential parts of the city.
What to expect next
The Kenosha Police Department has not yet released the victim's name or the cause of death, citing the ongoing investigation. Detectives are still working to piece together what happened inside the home.
Anyone with information, including surveillance video or detailed observations from the area, is asked to contact the Kenosha Police Detective Bureau at 262-605-5203, investigators said, according to FOX6 News Milwaukee. The case remains active.
