Los Angeles International Airport is getting a serious lounge upgrade. Korean Air is set to unveil its reimagined flagship space in the Tom Bradley International Terminal on Friday, March 6, a two-level retreat with more room, private first-class suites, and a refreshed Prestige/Miler Club area tailored to trans-Pacific travelers.

What Korean Air Built

The airline poured about 65 billion won into the project and spent roughly 22 months renovating the footprint, which now comes in at around 1,675 square meters, or about 1.27 times the size of the previous lounge. The overhaul carved out a dedicated first-class lounge on the sixth floor and a combined Miler Club and Prestige zone on the fifth, both perched on the terminal’s upper levels, according to AJU Press.

What’s Inside

Design firm LTW Designworks leaned into natural light, installing floor-to-ceiling windows, warm wood paneling, and a balcony terrace that looks out over the terminal interior. On the first-class side, guests get private rooms and made-to-order à la carte dining, while the Prestige and Miler Club areas feature live cooking stations, a signature Los Angeles coffee blend, and drink options inspired by the local scene. Travelers can also expect shower suites, business and family zones, and tech-friendly workspaces built for long layovers, according to The Points Guy.

Who Can Get In

Access will be tightly managed once the doors open on March 6. Korean Air is reserving the upstairs First Class space for passengers booked in First Class only. The main lounges will be open to Prestige (business) class passengers, Milers Club members, and SkyTeam first and business-class travelers. SkyTeam Elite Plus members on same-day international flights are also eligible. Premium economy tickets typically do not unlock lounge access unless paired with qualifying elite status, according to The Points Guy.

Why It Matters For L.A. Flyers

The revamp is part of a larger push by Korean Air to modernize its overseas lounges ahead of the carrier’s planned integration with Asiana. LAX is the first international location to get the new treatment, with JFK lined up next, as the airline looks to sharpen its premium game in a terminal that already hosts high-end spaces from Delta, Air France, and Virgin Atlantic, according to Runway Girl Network.

Korean Air has framed the makeover as an expression of “Modern Korean Luxury” and says the investment is meant to elevate its presence at LAX. In a press release, an airline official promised “a new level of premium service” and signaled that more lounge upgrades are in the pipeline, according to AJU Press.
