Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island is gearing up for a very 2026 kind of summer, lining the waterfront with new ways to eat, drink and linger. The resort is rolling out Adirondacks Pizza in the Mission Point Marketplace, a Detroit-style American Coney Island breakfast skillet at Round Island Kitchen, more seats and frozen drinks at Lily’s Lemonade, and an upgraded fitness center to work it all off. New small-group classes and cocktail demos are set to run through the season, all aimed at keeping families and ferry-day crowds on property while giving repeat visitors a fresh excuse to book another stay.
Adirondacks Pizza is slated to open this spring inside the Mission Point Marketplace, serving classic and island-inspired pies with a gluten-free crust option plus grab-and-go slices for impromptu picnics on the Great Lawn. Executive Chef John Clements developed the concept, and the kitchen plans to source many of its ingredients from Michigan producers. The shop will be open to both resort guests and the general public, with online and phone ordering available, according to Pure Michigan.
Over at Round Island Kitchen, the headline at breakfast is an American Coney Island skillet built around eggs, natural skin-casing hot dogs from Dearborn Sausage and the Keros family coney island chili sauce. "We’re proud to partner with Mission Point Resort to bring the American Coney Island skillet to guests this year," Grace Keros said in a statement to MLive.
Classes, cocktails and fitness upgrades
Mission Point’s calendar is filling in with small-group classes and recurring events designed to give guests more to do between bike rides and lake views. The resort lists a “wine & fudge pairing” on Saturdays at 2 p.m., a “Shaken & Stirred: Signature Sips of Mission Point” cocktail demo on Fridays at 2 p.m., a monthly “sushi club,” and a pasta-making class once a month from June through September. Lily’s Lemonade is set to add more seating along with new frozen drinks this season, and the fitness center has been refreshed with new state-of-the-art cardio and weight machines plus fresh paint and mirrors. All of it is meant to boost on-site options and position Mission Point as more of a longer-stay destination, per MLive.
What it means for island visitors
For island visitors, the changes add quick, familiar comfort food without leaving resort grounds. Adirondacks Pizza and the new breakfast skillet at Round Island Kitchen will be available to both overnight guests and walk-up island visitors, according to Pure Michigan. The skillet’s roots run straight to Detroit’s coney dog tradition: American Coney Island traces back to Constantine “Gust” Keros in 1917, giving the partnership a century-plus pedigree, per Wikipedia. With the Great Lawn, the Mission Point Marketplace and the expanded slate of programming, the resort is stacking family-friendly convenience and food options just in time for the busy summer ferry season.
