
A 61-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after being shot in the neck Tuesday evening on the 4000 block of Ashland in St. Louis, according to police. The victim told officers he was standing outside a home when he suddenly heard gunfire and believes the shots came from two men inside an SUV that took off right after the shooting.

District 6 officers responded shortly before 6:40 p.m. and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck, First Alert 4 reports. First responders rushed him to a nearby hospital. Police say the investigation remains active.
