
Police are asking for the public's help identifying a cyclist wanted in connection with a Midtown stabbing that left a 36-year-old man with a wound to his left thigh. The attack followed what officers describe as a verbal dispute on Feb. 17 near 24 East 23rd Street, within the NYPD's 13th Precinct. The assailant, who has not been publicly identified, fled the scene on a bicycle before officers arrived.
Cops Share Surveillance Stills After 23rd Street Clash
In a post from NYPD Crime Stoppers on Facebook, investigators say the victim was stabbed in the left thigh with an unknown sharp object outside 24 East 23rd Street on Feb. 17. The post includes surveillance stills and a short summary of the incident to help detectives from the 13th Precinct track down the suspect. Police have not released the suspect's name or a full description.

According to the NYPD's CompStat packet for the 13th Precinct, officers recorded four felony assaults week-to-date and 37 felony assaults year-to-date in 2026, as listed in the department's weekly report.
