A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is headed to federal prison for more than two decades. On Wednesday, a federal judge sentenced Daniel Anderson to 22 years after he pleaded guilty in a child sexual abuse material case. Anderson admitted to receipt of child pornography with a prior qualifying conviction and will face five years of supervised release when he is released. Prosecutors say the sentence follows an investigation that traced explicit material to both the Milwaukee and Memphis areas, as reported by FOX6 Milwaukee.

In court, U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman imposed the term and ordered Anderson to register as a sex offender under both state and federal law. Interim U.S. Attorney Brad Schimel called Anderson a “predator” and said the sentence would prevent further contact with children. The details of the plea and the punishment came from federal prosecutors and were reported locally, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.

Investigation and charges

Prosecutors allege Anderson paid a co-defendant to produce and send child sexual abuse material depicting an 11-year-old, with exchanges occurring in both the Milwaukee and Memphis areas. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Memphis Police Department investigated the matter, which federal authorities handled as part of Project Safe Childhood. Those allegations were outlined in the original federal filings, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Co-defendant and earlier proceedings

Anderson’s co-defendant, Chasity Evans, pleaded guilty to producing the material and was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison in June 2025, court records show. Authorities say Evans created and distributed the images in exchange for nominal payments and that the victim was between 11 and 12 years old during the production. Those earlier filings and Evans’s sentence were reported by local outlets, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.
