The Coral Reefer Band, the longtime crew behind Jimmy Buffett’s sun-soaked sound, is heading back on the road this summer and turning The Woodlands into party central on July 24. The “Keep The Party Going Tour” starts July 9 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and winds through East Coast and Southern amphitheaters before closing Aug. 8 in Boston.
Texas dates and stops
The tour hits Texas in a tight three-night sprint: Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park in Austin on July 23, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on July 24, and Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on July 25, according to Live Nation. That same tour rundown lists the July 9 kickoff in Bethlehem and the Aug. 8 finale in Boston, with most dates lined up along the East Coast and across the South.
Tickets and what to expect
General tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation, the Houston Chronicle reports, while several presales are already flagged as active on the official listings. According to the Chronicle, a Live Nation news release promises “iconic songs” and “deep cuts” along with stories and reflections from the musicians who helped build Buffett’s catalog from the inside.
Who’s on stage
Lead vocals will be split among Mac McAnally, Scotty Emerick, Will Kimbrough, Peter Mayer and Nadirah Shakoor, with the touring lineup rounded out by Robert Greenidge, Jim Mayer, Roger Guth, Doyle Grisham, John Lovell, Eric Darken, Mick Utley and Tina Gullickson, according to the Coral Reefer Band page at JimmyBuffett.com. This crew has anchored Buffett’s sound for decades and is now stepping into the spotlight to carry the songs forward with their own lead turns and road stories.
Legacy and local impact
Buffett died Sept. 1, 2023, at age 76, and the band has framed this summer run around his request to “keep the party going,” the Houston Chronicle notes. For Parrotheads in The Woodlands and across the Gulf Coast, these dates offer a chance to hear the songs live again while the musicians add fresh context and memories from years spent on the road with Buffett.
What to know before you go
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater, so fans will want to review the venue’s parking details, clear-bag rules and weather guidelines on the pavilion’s site before heading out. For tickets and presale information, check the Coral Reefer Band tour page at Live Nation or contact the venue box office.
