An early Friday crash involving a pedestrian at Orlando International Airport threw a wrench into the morning rush, clogging traffic around the terminals, temporarily closing Parking Garage B, and cutting off all northbound lanes on Jeff Fuqua Boulevard. Travelers heading to or from MCO were warned to expect delays and to build in extra time while first responders worked the scene.
According to WFTV, airport officials said the Orlando Police Department is investigating the incident near Garage B. A GOAA spokesperson told Channel 9 that, as of 4:30 a.m., Garage B was closed to traffic until further notice and all northbound traffic on Jeff Fuqua Boulevard was shut down. Channel 9's crew also reported a medical examiner at the scene, and drivers were asked to follow police directions when exiting the airport.
Jeff Fuqua Has A History Of Traffic Disruptions
Jeff Fuqua Boulevard is no stranger to gridlock, and emergency closures, and similar disruptions have hit MCO in recent years. ClickOrlando reported a June 14, 2025, crash that temporarily shut down the entrance to Terminal B, while WESH covered a 2023 incident that diverted lanes near Terminal C after a vehicle went into a retention pond. Those past shutdowns show how a single crash can ripple through the entire airport traffic pattern.
What Travelers Should Do
If you are heading to MCO this morning, give yourself extra time, check with your airline for any flight updates, and follow instructions from officers directing traffic. The airport posts operational advisories on its official X account, so keep an eye on Orlando International Airport (@MCO) for the latest notices. When picking up passengers, consider using the cell phone lot to avoid adding to the terminal congestion. We will update this story as officials release more details.
