Trooper findings and crash data
The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigates fatal traffic crashes and compiles detailed reports noting vehicle movements, road conditions and contributing factors. Those records help explain why single-vehicle motorcycle wrecks that involve ejection or overturning can so easily turn fatal on higher-speed rural curves. Statewide crash data maintained by the patrol offer broader context for the risks riders face on Missouri’s two-lane highways.
