
Late Thursday night in West Seattle, neighbors near 31st Avenue Southwest and SW Cloverdale Street called in reports of gunfire after someone in a silver car opened fire, according to police. No injuries were reported, and officers did not find any shell casings or obvious bullet damage in the immediate aftermath.

According to West Seattle Blog, officers at the scene confirmed that a witness saw a person fire a gun from a silver car near 31st and Cloverdale. Around the same time, 911 dispatchers also received a separate report of possible shots near the 8100 block of 14th SW, but told responding officers those sounds "seemed too far away to be from the same incident," the outlet reported. The initial update went up shortly after midnight.

The late-night gunfire comes amid a run of shooting incidents in West Seattle. In mid-January, police said more than 60 rounds were fired and a woman was injured, as reported by KIRO 7. Earlier coverage also detailed a March 2025 vigil where police said more than 100 rounds were fired across several blocks, according to KIRO 7.
