Magnolia Village woke up to broken glass and empty displays Friday after early-morning thieves hit several shops along West McGraw Street, leaving one boutique’s jewelry case completely cleared out and neighbors on edge along the tight-knit commercial strip.
As reported by KING 5, the burglary at Vixen Collection unfolded around 1 a.m. on Friday and lasted only minutes. Surveillance video shows two people inside the store after the front door was forced open with a crowbar. Seattle Police received an online report and confirmed that at least one other business along West McGraw Street is part of the same investigation.
Hannah Bailey, who works at Vixen Collection, told KING 5 that walking in to find the smashed jewelry case was “terrifying” and left staff shaken. Store management estimates more than $6,000 worth of jewelry was stolen and has voiced frustration with city policy and what they see as limited enforcement capacity.
Where It Happened
Vixen Collection operates a Magnolia boutique and spa at 3209 W McGraw St., right in the heart of Magnolia Village. According to Vixen Collection, the shop sits on a short commercial strip where several small retailers and services are clustered close together.
Investigation And Reaction
The investigation remains active and no arrests have been announced. Business owners along West McGraw Street say they are tightening overnight security, reviewing neighborhood camera footage and urging anyone with tips or video to share that information with police as they try to steady nerves and get back to business.
