
A Monday night argument on a Springfield street ended in gunfire, leaving a woman in her 30s hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and a suspect in handcuffs, according to police.
Officers responded around 8:30 p.m. to the 400 block of W. 16th Street, where they found the woman with a gunshot wound and rushed her to a hospital. A Jacksonville police news release said officers arrested a suspect at the scene without incident, according to Action News Jax.

Investigators told reporters the victim and suspect had been arguing shortly before shots were fired. The woman’s injuries were described as "life-threatening," and detectives said they are continuing to canvass the area, collect evidence and conduct interviews to determine what sparked the violence, according to Action News Jax.
