Timnath is about to smell a lot more like hickory smoke and waffle cones. G‑Que BBQ, the competition‑bred Colorado barbecue brand, is opening a ground‑up, dual‑concept restaurant and ice cream scoop shop in the Ladera development, bringing brisket and Banana Pudding under one roof.
The roughly 4,000‑square‑foot space at 4931 Cima Vista Drive will seat about 170 guests, include a patio and feature a “Que‑Thru” mobile pick‑up lane for preorders. The new spot is slated to debut in the final week of April and will also offer a full bar plus a weekday happy hour that includes $1 beers.
Where It Lands And When It Opens
This Timnath outpost will be G‑Que’s fifth brick‑and‑mortar restaurant and will sit inside Ladera’s mixed‑use center at 4931 Cima Vista Drive. The buildout is nearing completion, and the company expects to open in the last week of April, according to WhatNow.
Designers have laid out both indoor seating and a patio, and instead of a traditional drive‑thru, the site will use a mobile pickup lane to speed preordered pickups. With Ladera still filling in its roster, the opening positions G‑Que as one of the development’s early restaurant anchors.
Menu, Ice Cream And Happy Hour
The Timnath menu will lean on G‑Que’s championship‑style smoked meats, including a brisket French dip, pulled pork, pork belly burnt ends and a brisket cheesesteak, with sides such as mac and cheese, pit‑smoked beans, and loaded baked potatoes listed on the brand’s menu.
The sit‑down bar will run a weekday happy hour with discounted beers, and the space will also house The Ice Cream Farm, G‑Que’s small‑batch scoop shop. Flavors the company lists include Bourbon, Butterscotch, and Banana Pudding made with cream from local Longmont dairies, as shown on G‑Que BBQ and the Ice Cream Farm page.
Championship Pedigree And Catering Reach
G‑Que’s growth comes out of a contest background. The team has captured Grand and Reserve Grand Championships and Team of the Year honors on the Kansas City Barbeque Society circuit and has been inducted into the Rocky Mountain BBQ Association Hall of Fame.
Beyond its restaurants, the brand operates concession stands at Coors Field, Empower Field, and Folsom Field and runs a sizable catering program capable of serving events of more than 2,000 guests, according to a company release. Those accolades and the chain’s stadium presence are outlined in the company’s press materials, per PR Newswire.
Local Impact And What To Expect
Local coverage indicates the Timnath build will add dozens of jobs, with roughly 30 to 40 hires mentioned in reporting about the project, and it gives Ladera an early, high‑profile restaurant tenant as the center builds out. Developers have pitched Ladera as a major new retail and dining hub for the I‑25 and Harmony corridor, and G‑Que’s arrival drops a familiar Colorado BBQ name into that mix.
“This is a dream project for us,” founder Jason Ganahl said in a statement, and he told reporters the team wants to bring its championship smoked meats to Northern Colorado, according to NOCO Style.
