Waikiki’s buzzy Asian food hall STIX ASIA is packing its bags for Southwest Las Vegas, where the brand will take over roughly 18,000 square feet at UnCommons and operate about a dozen vendor stalls. It is the concept’s first location outside Hawaii, and backers are promising chefs with Michelin-recognized pedigrees, cultural programming and a street-market vibe that puts live cooking and hospitality ahead of app-only ordering.

According to Pacific Business News, the Las Vegas outpost will feature a 12-stall floorplan led by CEO Frank Clark with investor Hideyuki Takahashi. The outlet also notes Japanese actor Junichi Ishida among the partners and highlights plans to recruit chefs whose work has received Michelin recognition.

What the hall will look like

As outlined by STIX ASIA, the venue is designed to feel like an Asian street market, complete with a dedicated noodle alley, yakitori counters, a sizable indoor bar and room for night markets and cultural festivals. Company materials say the vendor mix will lean into first-time concepts for Las Vegas, with Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean and other regional cuisines sharing the same roof.

From Sundry to Stix

The move fills the vacancy left by the Sundry food hall at UnCommons, and Stix's leadership is pitching a showier approach built around open kitchens and in-person interaction. The Las Vegas Review‑Journal reported that Hideyuki Takahashi signed the lease during a January 2025 ceremony and quoted CEO Frank Clark describing the "theater" of live cooking that will anchor the experience.

Why Las Vegas

Stix's Las Vegas debut plugs into the city’s growing "Ninth Island" moment, a wave of Hawaii-linked restaurants driven by visitors and residents with strong Hawaii ties. Coverage by Eater Vegas and other outlets notes that the hall could serve as a bridge between local Chinatown talent and Hawaii’s steady tourist traffic.

As detailed in UnCommons promotional materials, Stix Asia is slated to open in early 2026 as part of the campus’s expanding restaurant lineup. Developers and operator representatives have yet to release a final vendor roster or firm opening date and say more information will roll out closer to launch.
