A 58-year-old man stabbed on San Antonio’s West Side on Saturday managed to get away from his attacker, call police and make it to a hospital, where his injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Officers later located him away from the original scene, and investigators say they are still looking for the suspect.
What Investigators Say
Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of SW 36th Street on Saturday, according to KENS5. Investigators told the station the stabbing happened at a different location than where officers ultimately found the victim, adding an extra layer of work to an already tense search for whoever was behind the attack.
Citywide Context
The stabbing report lands against a backdrop of an overall drop in reported crime citywide. City data presented late last year showed overall crime fell more than 13% in 2025, as reported by KSAT.
Investigation Ongoing
Police have not identified a suspect and said the investigation remains active, per KENS5. Investigators are asking anyone with information, video or tips to contact the San Antonio Police Department as they work to piece together what happened and who is responsible.
