
A person using a wheelchair was hit and killed while crossing Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth last Saturday, according to police. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of Camp Bowie Boulevard. The victim died at the scene. Investigators said the driver remained at the location, called 911, and was checked by medical personnel. Officers said the driver showed no signs of impairment and was later arrested on unrelated misdemeanor and felony warrants.
What the police said
As reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, officers arrived to find the person in a wheelchair had been struck while crossing the roadway in the 6600 block of Camp Bowie. The driver stopped, called for help and cooperated with first responders, according to the paper. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office is responsible for identifying the victim. Police told the Star-Telegram the driver did not appear intoxicated at the scene.
