DL Mack’s, the Chicago-inspired tavern concept from Vandelay Hospitality, is rolling into West Village this week, bringing cracker-thin, tavern-style pies and a lively bar scene to Uptown. The new spot marks the brand’s third Dallas location, joining existing outposts in University Park and Preston Hollow, and keeps its focus on casual starters, sandwiches and cocktails built for the after-work crowd.

According to the Dallas Observer, DL Mack’s is set to open Wednesday, March 4, in the former Midici space in West Village. The menu is built around tavern-style pizza, with the Chicago Special, the Spicy Vodka and the Return of the Mack all getting special mention.

DL Mack’s operates under Vandelay Hospitality Group, the Dallas-based company behind Hudson House and several other neighborhood-focused concepts, according to the company’s site. Vandelay has been steadily planting multiple brands inside the West Village complex as part of a wider push across North Texas.

Menu and happy hour

The menu leans into classic tavern picks, with starters, chopped salads, sandwiches and cracker-thin pizzas, along with returning fan favorites like deviled eggs and spick rigatoni, per the Dallas Observer. DL Mack’s West Village page lists hours as Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a daily bar happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m., according to DL Mack's.

Where it sits in West Village

Project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation note that the DL Mack’s West Village build-out at 3699 McKinney Ave., Suite 106 is an interior remodel of roughly 4,600 square feet. Vandelay’s broader West Village lineup also includes a Hudson House location and a plan to grow Ten Ramen following the brand’s sale to Vandelay, according to FastCasual.

Reservations and the full menu are available through DL Mack’s West Village page, and walk-ins are expected to be easy to snag during the opening stretch. For Uptown diners, the arrival adds another option for post-work pizza, cocktails and a roomy bar in a center that has been steadily loading up on new concepts this year.
