Kenosha’s long-delayed Strawberry Creek housing project looks like it is finally rolling again, with developer The Huron Group gearing up to restart construction on a new cluster of attached homes beside the community’s private golf club. The first phase is expected to turn idle parcels into for-sale homes and, if the current timetable holds, put units on the market by late 2026. The restart is being framed as the opening move in a larger, multiphase redevelopment of the remaining Strawberry Creek land.
As reported by the Milwaukee Business Journal, the revived effort is branded "The Villas at Strawberry Creek" and is identified as Phase 1 of a broader plan across the neighborhood’s undeveloped parcels. The paper notes this phase brings a stalled project back to life, with Huron stepping in to lead the initial stage.
What the plan would build
Developer materials call for 36 attached single-family duplex homes built around two primary floorplans, with optional second-floor suites for buyers who want more space. According to Huron Homes, prices start in the mid-$400,000s, and the builder’s schedule has construction beginning in June 2026, with the first home deliveries targeted for October 2026.
Where it sits
The Villas sites are tucked inside the existing Strawberry Creek neighborhood, just off the fairways of the Club at Strawberry Creek’s private course. The Club at Strawberry Creek lists its address as 14810 72nd Street and highlights a clubhouse, fitness center and event spaces, underscoring that these homes are being pitched as golf-course-adjacent living.
Why it matters
Bringing this long-idle land back into play would convert unused parcels into taxable, for-sale housing and add a modest batch of new homes to the Kenosha market. The Milwaukee Business Journal notes that local real-estate watchers see the comeback as a test of how much demand there really is for attached single-family homes in the area.
What’s next
Huron’s community page says lot reservations are already open and points buyers to its Kenosha design center for more details. Interested shoppers can contact the builder’s sales team to review floorplans and get instructions on reserving a lot.
