Two men who allegedly returned to a Capitol Hill fast-food restaurant and began harassing an employee ended the night in handcuffs, after Seattle police say they found both of them armed early Saturday in the Pike/Pine corridor.
Arrest details
According to the Seattle Police Department, officers were called around 4:00 a.m. to reports of armed men inside a fast-food spot on the 1200 block of East Pike Street. When they arrived, officers detained two suspects, ages 21 and 28.
Police say they recovered a short-barreled rifle equipped with a 30-round magazine, along with a pistol that investigators report was stolen out of Tacoma. Both men were arrested for harassment and multiple weapons offenses and booked into the King County Jail. The case is listed under incident number 2026-98842.
Where it happened
The 1200 block of East Pike sits in the Pike-Pine commercial corridor of Capitol Hill, a dense stretch known for its bars, restaurants and steady late-night foot traffic, per Wikipedia. That combination of late hours and crowded sidewalks can complicate enforcement when incidents unfold overnight.
Police response
The department also shared a short alert on its official X account, noting that "the information is preliminary and subject to change" and directing people to the blotter post for more detail. The social post also reminds the public that the account is not monitored for emergencies, the Seattle Police Department wrote on X. Detectives are reviewing the case and the investigation remains active.
Next steps
Police said detectives will continue to follow up with witnesses and examine evidence while prosecutors weigh potential charges. No additional identifying information about the two suspects was released in the initial update. The department's blotter remains the primary source for case details and the incident number as the investigation moves forward.
