Nearly five months after a man was shot and killed on Oliver Street NW, Atlanta police say they have their first named suspect. A 19-year-old Atlanta resident, Jontavious Clark, was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with the November 2025 killing, according to authorities. Clark is facing counts of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
How the Oliver Street Shooting Unfolded
Atlanta police were called around 8:48 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2025, to the 360–361 block of Oliver Street NW, where officers found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives responded that night and have been working the case ever since, according to the original incident report from the Atlanta Police Department.
How Police Tracked the Suspect
Officers from multiple units, including the Fugitive and Gang units, located Clark at a home on Deckner Avenue SW and arrested him Wednesday, police said. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail without incident and now faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. According to authorities, Clark has four prior arrests that include theft and property damage, and investigators have not released any motive. Those details were reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
Investigation Remains Active
Officials say the homicide investigation is still active as detectives collect evidence and speak with potential witnesses. The APD's initial Nov. 25 statement noted that investigators were working the case, and that work has continued. Police have not yet publicly identified the victim or shared additional information about what led up to the shooting. Hoodline previously covered the fatal Oliver Street shooting, focusing on the APD's early account.
What Happens Next
Prosecutors will now review the arrest package and decide whether to move forward with formal indictments. When Atlanta police announced the arrest, no arraignment date had been released. Clark remained in custody at the Fulton County Jail, and authorities said they expect to share more details as the investigation moves forward. FOX 5 Atlanta first reported the arrest.
