Brooklyn Park’s Tactical Response Unit executed what police called a high‑risk search warrant at a home in the 3900 block of Brookdale Drive on Wednesday, detaining several residents and arresting one juvenile female, according to the department. Officers cleared the inside of the home, then turned the scene over to detectives to process the property as the investigation continues.
Police account of the raid
In a Facebook post, the Brooklyn Park Police Department said officers serving the Brookdale Drive warrant detained one adult male, two adult females, two juvenile females and two juvenile males. Detectives had requested the high‑risk warrant as part of an ongoing investigation, according to the post.
The department said the Tactical Response Unit went in first, cleared the interior, then handed the scene over to detectives to search and collect evidence. Police added that one of the detained juvenile females was arrested at the scene.
Why the tactical team was used
Brooklyn Park’s Tactical Response Unit, the city’s SWAT‑style team, is brought in when detectives believe a warrant could involve armed or otherwise dangerous subjects, according to the city’s police materials. Brooklyn Park Police describe the unit as trained to secure high‑risk entries and to protect both officers and nearby residents.
Similar early‑morning warrant services by the team have been documented in recent months.
What happens next
Because one person taken into custody is a juvenile, any potential charges and court hearings would move through the juvenile‑court system, which typically runs through the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for cases in the county. Materials from the Hennepin County Attorney's Office note that prosecutors review evidence submitted by detectives before deciding whether to file charges in juvenile matters.
Brooklyn Park Police did not list any specific charges in the department’s public post and described the investigation as ongoing. Anyone with information was asked to contact detectives through the department’s non‑emergency line. The Brooklyn Park Police website lists contact options and the non‑emergency number.
