A 48-year-old Converse man is in jail after a young family member told a counselor he had been sexually abusing the child, according to investigators. Jason Phillip Jimenez has been arrested on a felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a young child, and authorities say the allegations, which date to last year, are now the focus of an active law enforcement investigation.

Bexar County Central Magistrate records list Jimenez in custody under booking number B202617006 at the county adult detention center. Those public records show he was processed through the magistrate's office following the recent arrest.

How the case came to light

According to News 4 San Antonio, the child, identified in court documents only by the pseudonym "Jimmy," disclosed the abuse during a counseling session at ChildSafe. That outcry led to a forensic interview and the arrest affidavit that followed.

The affidavit alleges the abuse took place at Jimenez's home in Converse between mid-August and mid-September 2025 and describes multiple encounters. In one incident, shortly before the child's 13th birthday, the document states the child was forced to strip and was sexually abused.

What the charge means

Investigators say the allegations outline repeated acts over a span of 30 days or more involving a child younger than 14. That is the threshold for the charge of continuous sexual abuse of a young child under Texas law.

Texas Penal Code §21.02 classifies the offense as a first-degree felony, with potential penalties ranging from decades in prison to a life sentence. The statute allows prosecutors to pursue a continuous-abuse theory when they allege multiple acts over time, rather than treating the case as a single incident.

State medical board had already acted

The Texas Medical Board reports that it restricted Jimenez's surgical-assistant license on April 2, 2026, after previously suspending that license in November 2025 following an Oct. 1, 2025 charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. According to the board's public notices, the current restrictions prohibit him from caring for patients younger than 18 and require that he practice only under direct physician supervision when working as a surgical assistant.

The board outlined those disciplinary steps in its public notices regarding the license actions.

Investigation remains active

Authorities say the investigation is still underway and, so far, they have not publicly identified any additional victims, according to the arrest affidavit and related reporting. Officials noted that during the forensic interview, some of the child's disclosures had to be written down because the victim struggled to describe the events out loud.

Prosecutors and detectives have not indicated whether they expect to file any additional charges as the case moves forward.
