Dallas cops and federal marshals are turning up the heat on wanted suspects, rolling out a new monthlong fugitive sweep they are bluntly calling Operation We Got You.
The operation launched today and runs through May 8. It pairs the Dallas Police Department’s Fugitive Unit with the U.S. Marshals Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force, with a stated focus on people wanted on violent felony warrants who officials say pose the highest risk to public safety.
In a post on X, the Dallas Police Department said officers and marshals have already recovered four firearms, including one reported stolen and another converted to fire automatically. They also reported seizing about 25.5 grams of fentanyl, 24 grams of crack cocaine, 3.9 grams of methamphetamine and more than $1,900 in cash. The post noted that the operation will run through May 8 and named several people arrested by the task force, including Eric Lampkin-Scarborough. According to the Dallas Police Department, Crime Stoppers will pay for information that leads to arrests, and the public can call 214-373-TIPS (8477) with tips.

How the sweep fits into recent pushes
This is not Dallas’ first rodeo when it comes to concentrated fugitive roundups. In a report on an earlier crackdown known as Operation Justice Trail, the department said nearly 100 fugitives were arrested during a similar monthlong effort in May 2025, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Another coordinated push, February’s Operation Clean Sweep, brought another wave of Marshals-assisted arrests and highlighted how these sweeps have become a recurring part of the city’s enforcement playbook, as documented by Hoodline.
Arrests and a familiar name
In its X update on Operation We Got You, the Dallas Police Department said the North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Eric Lampkin-Scarborough as part of the sweep. Lampkin-Scarborough was previously detained after a July 25, 2024 incident in northeast Dallas, when officers fired on a stolen pickup and later recovered four firearms. Investigators said one of those weapons had a switch that could enable automatic fire, and he faced prohibited-weapon and evading-detention allegations, according to The Dallas Morning News. The department’s latest post did not list charges tied to his new arrest.
How to report tips
Anyone with information about suspects targeted in the sweep is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS (8477) or use Dallas PD’s established tip channels, and Crime Stoppers offers rewards for information that leads to arrests, per local reporting. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and officials are stressing that residents should not try to detain anyone themselves.
City leaders and police say Operation We Got You is one piece of a broader violent-crime reduction plan that leans heavily on targeted enforcement against repeat offenders. Officials say more updates will roll out on the department’s social media accounts as the sweep continues.
