
Police are searching for a gunman after a 59-year-old man was found shot inside a vehicle on Cleveland’s East Side on Tuesday and later died at the hospital. Officers had already been in the neighborhood talking with residents when dispatch cut in with word that someone had been hit.
What Police Say Happened
Officers from the Fourth District responded to a call for shots fired in the 11700 block of Cromwell Avenue and were speaking with several individuals when dispatch notified them that a male had been shot in a nearby vehicle, according to WKYC. Cleveland EMS took the victim to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police identified him as a 59-year-old man.
The Cleveland SWAT team cleared a home in the area but did not locate a suspect, and officers said the shooter may have barricaded inside a residence on Cromwell. As of now, the person responsible has not been found.
