A late-night burst of gunfire in Edgewood left one young man dead and another seriously injured Friday, rattling a Harford County neighborhood that has seen more than its share of violent crime in recent years.

Deputies were called out around 11:15 p.m. to the area of Grempler Way and Brookside Drive. Authorities say they arrived in under a minute and quickly found a 22-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder and neck. He was stabilized at the scene, then rushed to a Baltimore-area trauma center.

A short distance away, on the 1900 block of Eloise Lane, deputies located a second victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was later identified as 20-year-old Bryan H. Burrows. First responders performed lifesaving measures, but Burrows was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies Respond Within a Minute

According to CBS Baltimore, Harford County deputies were dispatched to Grempler Way and Brookside Drive at about 11:15 p.m. and arrived in less than a minute. They rendered aid at both locations, with officials describing the surviving victim’s injuries as gunshot wounds to the shoulder and neck before he was transported to a trauma center for additional treatment.

Victim Identified and Condition

WMAR-2 News reports that Burrows was found unconscious and not breathing with a gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies and EMS worked to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators told reporters that the two men are known to one another and that, at this point, they are treating the shooting as an isolated incident.

Investigation and How to Help

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and has not announced any arrests. Detectives spent the overnight hours canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance video as they worked to piece together what led up to the violence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Thumma at 443-567-7201, according to CBS Baltimore.

Why This Matters in Edgewood

Residents in and around Edgewood have been here before. The community has seen multiple serious incidents in recent years, including a 2019 fatal shooting near the same Grempler Way and Brookside Drive area, and other double-shootings reported in 2025. The pattern underscores ongoing public-safety concerns in parts of Harford County.

Earlier cases covered by WMAR-2 News show investigators often find that those involved in these shootings know one another. In case after case, detectives have leaned on community tips to move investigations forward, a reality that once again leaves Edgewood residents in the position of both grieving and being asked to help solve the crime.
