
A one-vehicle crash on the northbound I-5 ramp to the Mountlake Terrace Transit Station at 236th Street turned deadly Tuesday, leaving the N5 ramp fully blocked, authorities said. The vehicle caught fire and was described as fully engulfed in flames before crews were able to knock the blaze down. Washington State Patrol troopers remained on scene to investigate, and officials had not given any estimate for when the ramp might reopen.
What officials said
According to WSDOT Traffic, which shared a post from the Washington State Patrol district public information officer, the N5 ramp to the transit station at 236th Street is fully blocked after a one-vehicle, fatal collision. The post noted the vehicle was fully engulfed by fire and that troopers were investigating at the scene. WSDOT said there was no ETA for reopening the ramp.

The closure is expected to affect northbound I-5 traffic and local streets around the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, especially during peak travel times.
