Shaunterrio "Shaun" Hudson, 36, a neurointerventional radiology technologist at Grady Memorial Hospital, was killed in the early hours of April 6 after a drive-by shooting while he was behind the wheel in Forest Park. Friends describe Hudson as a key member of Grady's stroke team who frequently assisted doctors during life-saving procedures. After he was shot, Hudson's car crashed into a tree near his home, and the case has sparked a full-scale homicide investigation.
What Investigators Say
According to a FOIA document reviewed by 11Alive, Hudson was shot through the driver's-side window while driving on Watts Road, then lost control and crashed into a tree at the intersection of Bartlett Road and Watts Road. Responders found him outside the wreck, and he was later taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's medical examiner's office for an autopsy. Forest Park police have not released any suspect details or a possible motive while detectives continue to collect evidence.
Colleagues Remember Him
Friends and co-workers told 11Alive that Hudson played a critical role on Grady's stroke team and was "saving lives" in the angiography suite. One friend said, "to know him is to love him," and colleagues described him as a steady presence in high-pressure emergency procedures. Those who knew him said he lived less than a minute from where his car came to rest.
