MYS Firm, in partnership with the City of Las Vegas, broke ground April 6 on a new commercial office building and entrepreneurial training center in the Historic Westside. The approximately 4,000-square-foot development is expected to open in summer 2027 and will feature offices and flexible training space designed to help small businesses launch and grow.

Myisha Boyce, President of MYS Firm, said the project represents "a meaningful investment in the Historic Westside and in the entrepreneurs who will help shape its future." Through a strategic partnership with Sumnu Marketing, the development aims to create a hub where small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs can access resources, training and collaboration opportunities.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Boyce paid about $114,000 for the roughly 0.4-acre parcel at the northeast corner of Owens Avenue and J Street. City records list an entrepreneurial training center among the space's programmed uses.

Boyce, founder and president of M.Y.S. Firm, has been active in local small-business programs. The new project is set to bring in office tenants and programming, leaning on networks of entrepreneurs and neighborhood organizers who have long worked in the Historic Westside. Those local partnerships tie into Boyce's stated goal of creating low-barrier business opportunities that keep talent and ideas inside the community.

What The Project Will Contain

The development will house a 1,447-square-foot entrepreneurial training center for classes, workshops, meetings and community events, along with office space for MYS Firm, Sumnu Marketing and other businesses. The center will offer mentorship, collaboration space and programs focused on business formation, sustainability and workforce development.

Located next to Nucleus Plaza at 1150 W. Owens Avenue, the development is expected to boost economic activity along the corridor by bringing new workers and visitors to nearby businesses.

Where This Fits In A Changing Westside

The infill project arrives as major redevelopment plans are set to reshape nearby blocks. The Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority and private partners are pursuing a multi-phase overhaul of the aging Marble Manor public housing complex that will add new mixed-income housing and community amenities, according to a developer release posted at Nevada Business Magazine. That reporting notes early phases are expected to move forward in 2026, with phased construction and replacement units planned over the following years.

The project responds to a broader need for economic diversification and job creation in Nevada, where the economy has historically relied heavily on tourism and hospitality. Small businesses employ more than 40% of the state's workforce and are widely recognized as a primary driver of job growth following economic downturns.

The effort aligns with the City of Las Vegas' Hundred Plan, which calls for targeted infill, new community amenities and small-business support in the area, according to city planning documents. If the timeline holds, the block will soon add a new business-focused hub to the mix of larger housing investments already rolling into the Westside.
