
Gunfire in Milwaukee's Hampton Heights neighborhood sent a 17-year-old boy to the hospital just after midnight Wednesday, after police say he was shot near North 63rd Street and West Fairmount Avenue. The teen was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, and officers canvassed the surrounding blocks overnight. No arrest had been made, and investigators are asking anyone with information to step up.
As reported by WISN, Milwaukee police said the shooting happened around midnight and that the teen’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Detectives are searching for the person responsible and have not released any suspect description.
Hampton Avenue corridor has seen repeated shootings
The shooting adds to a string of violent incidents along the Hampton Avenue corridor in recent months, where local reporting has documented multiple episodes and heavy police activity. In June 2025, back-to-back shootings on W. Hampton left two people dead and several others injured.
