New signage at Sadler Square says it all: Ilios Crafted Greek is headed to Davidson, with a planned storefront at 201 Griffith St. The Charlotte-born fast-casual chain is known for rotisserie meats, pita sandwiches and quick Greek plates that work well for pickup and low-key dine-in. If it opens as planned, the spot will add another fast-casual option just a short walk from downtown and Davidson College.
According to What Now Charlotte, co-owner Stratos Lambos confirmed the plan after an Instagram post showed signage going up, saying, "We are excited to serve the Davidson community and surrounding areas." The outlet notes that Lambos opened the first Ilios Crafted Greek in South End in 2020 with partners Angelo and Frank Kaltsounis. The same report lists the new Davidson address as 201 Griffith St.
Where the Davidson shop will sit
Sadler Square, the renovated shopping center at 201 Griffith St., was described as fully leased after a multimillion-dollar rehab, and a Piedmont Capital floor plan reproduced in coverage lists Ilios among the center's upcoming tenants. Axios Charlotte reported that Ilios was penciled in as an expected May/June arrival and named other incoming tenants such as Harriet's Hamburgers and Copain Bakery. The redevelopment follows Piedmont Capital's 2024 purchase and a renovation that updated facades and utilities.
What to expect from the menu
Ilios grew out of the Ilios Noche family and first rolled out its Crafted Greek concept in South End; Hoodline covered that 2020 opening. The chain's official site lists four current locations: Southend, Baxter Village, Stonecrest at Piper Glen and Oakhurst. The menu highlights rotisserie meats, salads, pita sandwiches, hummus and spinach and feta pie, with a fast-casual format that has made the brand a regular pick for commuters and local shoppers in Charlotte.
Lambos did not provide a firm opening timeline when he shared the news, What Now Charlotte reported, and the restaurant itself has not posted an official date. The Axios tenant plan lists Ilios as expected in May or June, but buildout schedules often shift. We will update when the company or landlord confirms a date.
For now, Davidson diners and students can look forward to a new quick-serve Greek option in the months ahead as Sadler Square's buildout continues. We will keep an eye on formal announcements and share updates when an opening date is set.
