Avondale Estates is getting a new reason to linger in Tudor Village, as Last Dance, a collaborative restaurant from four chefs, targets a May opening at 124 N. Avondale Road. The team is promising a focused farm-to-table menu, with whole fish and seasonal plates sharing space with more adventurous bites like a liver éclair and a lamb schnitzel. Pastry chef Chris Marconi will also turn out house-made bagels for a brunch service that is slated to roll out a few weeks after the restaurant first opens its doors.

Co-owner Kathryn Fitzgerald told What Now Atlanta she is aiming to debut Last Dance in May at the North Avondale address. “I really wanted to build a team of partners that all had a creative influence,” Fitzgerald said, describing the project as a “blissful entanglement” of chefs working and having fun together. The ownership group includes chefs Joshua Fryer and Patrick Daugherty, with Marconi leading the pastry and bread program.

A familiar storefront gets a new turn

Last Dance will move into the former home of Rising Son, the long-running breakfast and lunch spot that closed in late March after roughly ten years in business. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Rising Son's owner pointed to lease terms and rising rent as key reasons for the shutdown, which opened the Tudor Village storefront to a new concept. The handoff marks another shift along North Avondale Road as the neighborhood's dining lineup continues to evolve.

Menu, drinks and brunch

The team says the kitchen will lean into farm-to-table sourcing, pairing solid technique with a playful edge. Early menu teases include a liver éclair, lamb schnitzel and whole fish, along with a beverage program centered on classic cocktails and natural wines. Brunch is expected to follow several weeks after opening, with items such as English muffin egg sandwiches and smoked fish bagels in the works, according to What Now Atlanta. Marconi's house-made bagels are set to be a highlight of the weekend lineup.

Neighborhood fit and next steps

Local coverage had already pegged Last Dance as one to watch, with Rough Draft Atlanta pointing to the team's Instagram description of an “eccentric cottage” vibe wrapped around natural wines and intimate lighting. The owners have not pinned down an exact opening date yet. They say they plan to welcome guests sometime in May, and will share firm dates and reservation details on the restaurant's social channels as they work through permitting and staffing.
