Old League City's historic Main Street just got a jolt of caffeine. Coastal Teas, a new shop on the strip, opened Feb. 2 with a menu built around strongly caffeinated drinks that keep the sugar in check. Owner Kara Heath says a Type II diabetes diagnosis pushed her to rethink how much sugar was in her own drinks and ultimately to launch a business focused on high-energy beverages without the syrupy sweetness common at many national chains.
Loaded Teas, Boosters And Grab-n-Gos
Coastal Teas pours loaded teas, protein and collagen add-ins, iced coffee and rapid hydration drinks for customers who want a caffeine kick without a heavy sugar hit, as reported by Community Impact. The menu also offers kid's teas with no caffeine and bottled grab-n-go loaded teas meant to be shaken over ice. Heath frames the lineup as an option for people watching their sugar intake who still want bold, layered flavors.
Where It Sits On Main Street
The shop is located at 2047 W. Main St., Ste. A5, next to Bonnie’s Donuts, and is featured in the city’s Biz Brief as a recently opened, women-owned business. League City's business roundup highlights Coastal Teas alongside other Main Street arrivals and points to its wellness-focused drink options. The listing is part of a snapshot of new dining and retail spots that are gradually reshaping Old Main Street this year.
Owner's Health Journey And Plans
Heath told Community Impact that her diagnosis led her to scrutinize sugar and rethink how drinks are built from the ground up. "I've always had the spirit to serve others and been very customer service oriented," she said, adding that Coastal Teas plans to significantly expand its menu this summer. Those plans include more health-forward boosters and new flavor rotations designed to appeal to both adults and kids.
How It Fits The Local Tea Scene
Coastal Teas joins a small but growing roster of specialty tea and boba-style spots in the Bay Area suburbs, hinting at steady demand for different tea formats. For instance, The Tea League already operates an outpost in the market and lists a League City location on its schedule. The Tea League's local presence signals ongoing interest in milk teas, refreshers and similar drinks across the area.
Seasonal Specials And Where To Follow
Coastal Teas has rolled out limited-time Easter drinks, including a Spring Fever blend that mixes orange, mandarin, pineapple and pink-lemonade flavors, according to the shop’s Facebook page. For updates and new menu drops, follow the shop on Facebook and Instagram.
