Clifton just picked up a fresh fix for the boba faithful. Clifton Bubble Tea, a new counter on Ludlow Avenue, quietly opened last Friday and is already pitching itself as a student-friendly stop in the middle of the neighborhood. The shop brings milk teas, fruit teas, slushies and snow drinks to a walkable stretch near the University of Cincinnati, with plenty of seating and free Wi-Fi so customers can either dash in for a drink or camp out with laptops.
According to The News Record, Clifton Bubble Tea opened last Friday at 338 Ludlow Ave. The menu lists drinks such as strawberry milk tea, Thai milk tea, pineapple milk tea and brown sugar bubble tea, along with fruit teas like sugar cane and rose, plus slushies and snow drinks, with prices generally around $6 to $8. The outlet reports that the shop is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Sunday hours running until 9 p.m., and that the space offers a restroom, ample seating and free Wi-Fi.
Why a boba shop makes sense here
Industry research shows the U.S. bubble tea market has been growing rapidly, with Grand View Research estimating it at nearly $953 million in 2023 and projecting continued expansion, and younger consumers making up a major share of that demand. The Week also points to bubble tea's Instagram-friendly look and TikTok reach, trends that help explain why it plays so well in college neighborhoods. That mix of customization, novelty and social media visibility helps make a Ludlow storefront a logical match for students and nearby residents.
Owners, setup and the local feel
Owners Hari Bhattarai and Subash Adhikari are listed as the operators in local reporting, and they say they hope the shop will fit into UC's existing drink scene, according to The News Record. Early photos and descriptions show a comfortable interior that leans toward study-friendly seating alongside walk-up service. Opening menus focus on classic flavors, with seasonal additions expected as the owners see what resonates with Clifton crowds.
Clifton Bubble Tea joins a patchwork of boba counters that have appeared around Cincinnati over the years, with local coverage tracing the city's bubble tea scene back to neighborhood spots such as Tea N' Bowl and BoBa Cha. UrbanCincy chronicled one early example, and the Ludlow location gives UC students one more nearby option for pearls and milk tea drinks. If the first week is any indication, seasonal flavors and menu tweaks are likely as the shop settles into the neighborhood.
