A one-day crackdown across three northeast Louisiana parishes ended with 26 people arrested and a haul of drugs, a firearm and a suspected trafficking vehicle, according to a multi-agency sweep led by Louisiana State Police Troop F and the Criminal Investigations Division’s Monroe field office.
Working with the sheriffs’ offices in East Carroll, Madison and Tensas parishes on Tuesday, troopers reported 133 traffic stops and 23 public assists. The effort, carried out under the Joint Enforcement Taskforce (JET) initiative, led to 20 arrests on outstanding fugitive warrants, along with 93 written warnings and 11 traffic citations. In the process, officers seized roughly 270.3 grams of marijuana, about 34 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 10 dosage units of scheduled pills, one firearm and a vehicle suspected of being used to facilitate drug trafficking, according to a news release posted on the Louisiana State Police page.
The agency’s breakdown of the totals landed on social media shortly before local TV station KNOE published its own roundup, highlighting the scale of the operation across the three sparsely populated parishes. State police say the JET initiative leans on coordinated patrols and targeted stops to put some extra heat on corridors that traffickers and fugitives are known to favor.
What officers seized
Along with the 26 arrests, troopers cataloged a sizable mix of contraband. The operation turned up roughly 270.3 grams of marijuana, about 34 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 10 dosage units of scheduled pills, plus one firearm and a vehicle tied to suspected drug trafficking. Louisiana State Police say the JET enforcement was aimed squarely at getting illegal drugs and weapons off local roads and out of nearby communities during proactive patrols.
Where the sweep took place and who joined the effort
The sweep focused on East Carroll, Madison and Tensas parishes, with Troop F and the Criminal Investigations Division’s Monroe field office teaming up with each parish’s sheriff’s office. According to the release, the coordinated enforcement featured extra patrols and fugitive-warrant checks along the rural routes that link the three northeast Louisiana parishes, areas that do not always see this level of concentrated law-enforcement presence.
JET Taskforce context
This week’s sweep is part of the broader Joint Enforcement Taskforce program, which Louisiana State Police use for short-term, high-visibility operations targeting drug trafficking and illegal firearms in the region. A previous JET operation in October 2025 led to 22 criminal arrests, the agency’s news materials show. As outlined by Louisiana State Police, JET relies on multi-agency coordination and tightly focused patrols to locate fugitives and intercept contraband.
How to report and who to contact
State police are encouraging residents to report criminal or suspicious activity through the Louisiana State Police online reporting portal. The release lists ST Ryan Davis in Public Affairs as the point of contact for additional information (office: (318) 345-2810; [email protected]).
