A Saturday out near downtown Las Vegas took a sharp turn when a heavy police response outside Atomic Golf shut down a stretch of Main Street and sent traffic into gridlock. Officers set up a barricade around the scene, and at least one person was reported injured as emergency units packed into the busy entertainment corridor.
As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, the North Las Vegas Police Department and a Clark County SWAT team converged on 1850 S. Main St., the address of Atomic Golf. The outlet reported that the police barricade remained in place and that one person had been injured in the incident.
Atomic Golf’s high-profile downtown footprint
Atomic Golf is a multi-level golf and entertainment complex at 1850 S. Main St., just steps from The STRAT. The venue mixes high-tech golf bays with food, drinks and nightlife, drawing late-night crowds and making any disruption in the area hard to miss.
Main Street closure and response
A portion of Main Street outside the venue was closed while crews worked the scene, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The shutdown snarled traffic and caused interruptions for nearby downtown businesses while officers and rescue crews remained on site. As of the time of reporting, officials had not released full details on what triggered the barricade or whether any arrests had been made.
Authorities are expected to provide further information as the investigation develops. Updates will be shared as they become available, and anyone with information about the incident is typically asked to contact Las Vegas police through their official reporting channels.
