
A late-night multi-car crash erupted into a vehicle fire near Van Born Road and Hannan Road in Romulus yesterday, killing one person and briefly turning a busy intersection into a chaotic emergency scene.
First responders arrived to find one occupant trapped inside a burning vehicle. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. Others involved in the wreck managed to escape, including people riding in a U-Haul, according to early reports.
As reported by Metro Detroit News, the crash near Van Born and Hannan sparked a fire that left at least one person unable to get out in time. The outlet noted that occupants of a U-Haul were able to get clear of their vehicle, and that the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
