Seattle is squeezing in one more warm, dry day before a cooler, wetter setup moves in. Observations at Boeing Field on Monday morning showed clear skies and temperatures in the mid-50s, and inland neighborhoods are still on track to climb into the low 70s this afternoon, with a high near 71°F expected. That warmth is set to fade late Monday night as a Pacific low approaches, bringing a chance of rain after 8 p.m. and more persistent showers Tuesday into Wednesday.
Tonight Into Tuesday
Light showers are most likely to arrive after 8 p.m. Monday, April 20, with only spotty amounts overnight. The forecast keeps the chance of rain Monday night near 30 percent, with new rainfall totals under a tenth of an inch. By Tuesday, a stronger surge of moisture should lift northward, bringing periods of light rain and a roughly 50 percent chance of showers through the day, with highs near 60°F and the Cascades seeing the heaviest totals.
Snow levels are expected to stay above 5,000 to 6,000 feet, which means lowland snow is not in the cards. No watches or advisories are in effect for the area at this time. For the latest details, see the National Weather Service Seattle.
Commute And Outdoor Plans
Showers on Tuesday could slow the commute, especially near the waterfront and on hillier streets where runoff tends to pool quickly. If you have outdoor plans for Tuesday or early Wednesday, it may be worth shifting them indoors or later in the day, and grabbing a waterproof layer, since Monday's sunshine will not last into midweek.

Midweek Into The Weekend
Rain is expected to taper Wednesday night as the low drifts inland and a ridge builds offshore, with midweek highs dipping into the mid-50s. Regional rainfall totals through Wednesday are projected to reach about a half inch or less, with the Cascades picking up the highest amounts.
Drier, milder weather should return late in the week, with mostly sunny skies and highs back in the low to mid-60s Thursday and in the upper 60s by Friday and Saturday. For updates and timing, check in with the National Weather Service Seattle.
