
A trash collection run on South Broadway turned tragic Tuesday morning when a pedestrian was struck and killed in south St. Louis, authorities said.
The crash happened in the 4600 block of South Broadway at about 8:47 a.m., according to police. Officers shut down the stretch of roadway while investigators worked the scene and gathered evidence.

As reported by First Alert 4, which cited the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the vehicle involved was a trash collection truck that remained at the scene after the collision. Police confirmed that one person died.
