Atlanta police say a 17-year-old is now facing serious felony charges tied to a late-November double shooting on Campbellton Road that left one man dead and another hospitalized. The teen, identified by investigators as Terry Hill, has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers were called just before 10 p.m. on Nov. 23, 2025, to the 1900 block of Campbellton Road SW. They found a 26-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot; he was taken to a hospital, where he later died. A second man was also transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with gunshot injuries.

Investigators told FOX 5 Atlanta that the violence appears to have started with a late-night argument inside an event space, which then spilled into the parking lot between the venue and a nearby gas station before shots were fired. That outlet reports Hill was served with warrants for murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

95.5 WSB reports that those warrants were served while Hill was already being held at the Fulton County Jail on unrelated charges. The station also notes that investigators have not publicly identified a motive for the shooting, and the name of the man who was killed has not been released.

Officials have not said whether the firearm used in the Nov. 23 shooting has been recovered, and homicide detectives say the case remains active and under investigation, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Detectives are still working to collect statements from witnesses and process additional evidence from the scene.

Campbellton Road safety concerns

The Campbellton Road corridor has grappled with repeated violence and serious crashes in recent years, fueling ongoing neighborhood debate about safety and enforcement. Coverage from outlets such as chronicled crashes and violent incidents along the roadway has highlighted how frequently tragedy strikes in the area.

Legal next steps

The charges against Hill are all felonies that could result in lengthy prison sentences if prosecutors secure convictions. At this stage, though, the case remains an allegation, and Hill is presumed innocent unless and until he is found guilty in court. Any indictments, arraignments or additional filings will move through Fulton County prosecutors and judges and will appear on the public docket.

Atlanta Police Homicide detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers. APD contact and tip information is available on the department's website at the Atlanta Police Department press page.
