Atwater Village’s neighborhood bottle shop Wine and Eggs is heading west, with plans to crack open a new Culver City outpost and attached wine bar at 6142 Washington Blvd. Owners Lesley Holmes and Jeremy Allen have already filed for an ABC alcohol permit and expect to get the keys in July, aiming to wrap up the build-out by the end of the year. The wine-bar side will likely go by the name Overeasy Wine Bar, and the team plans to start with drinks and prepackaged snacks, then roll out a fuller food menu once the kitchen is ready.
As reported by What Now Los Angeles, Holmes said, “Culver City I have been looking at for a while,” describing the area as a neighborhood the team wants to serve. That report also notes that the current owners took over the Wine + Eggs brand in 2024 and have already expanded into Burbank by converting Olive Wine & Liquor. In ABC filings, the existing tenant, Bar & Garden, is listed as the current occupant of the Washington Boulevard space.
From Atwater Roots To A Small Chain
Wine + Eggs launched in 2021 as a corner bottle shop in Atwater Village and bills itself on its website as a hybrid wine shop, grocer, and local market. Wine + Eggs highlights its Over Easy wine club and curated grocery selection among its core offerings. Jeremy Allen, a certified sommelier who previously ran Minibar, took ownership last year, an ownership shift first reported by Eater LA.
Design And What To Expect
Holmes says the team is in the middle of the design phase and has tapped Los Angeles spatial designer Adi Goodrich, whose portfolio includes a Wine & Eggs project. Adi Goodrich is known for blending retail and set-style design, which lines up with the plan for a compact bar and shop rather than a sprawling restaurant. Early on, customers can expect prepackaged charcuterie and popcorn while the kitchen plan is finalized, according to What Now Los Angeles.
The Space On Washington Blvd
The new Wine and Eggs venture is slated for the current home of Bar & Garden at 6142 Washington Blvd, a neighborhood wine and spirits shop known for natural and small-production bottles. Listings from MapQuest and other local directories show Bar & Garden at that address. Wine + Eggs’ plan focuses on a seated counter for pours and retail shelving instead of a traditional dining room, a setup that would likely nudge foot traffic on the block toward more sipping and shopping than sit-down meals.
Culver City's Wine Scene Is Growing
Culver City has built up a compact but enthusiastic audience for curated wine lists and boutique bottle shops, making it a logical next step for an expanding label like Wine and Eggs. Nearby wine-centric spots and recent openings suggest locals are receptive to tasting events and tightly edited bottle selections. Neighborhood examples such as Stanley's Wet Goods show there is real appetite for intimate wine programming and bar-retail hybrids.
Holmes says the owners are ready to plug into that scene and plan to refine the menu as the build-out moves along. Neighbors can keep an eye out for permit updates and a gradual rollout of offerings once the team receives the keys this summer. If everything stays on schedule, Wine and Eggs will join a small but growing roster of Westside shops that blend retail shelves with glasses poured on site.
