Cincinnati is about to spend a full week talking climate, resilience and what it really takes to get greener at the neighborhood level. From June 8–14, the region’s first Cincinnati Climate Week will roll out workshops, tours, film screenings, volunteer projects and family-friendly activities across Greater Cincinnati. The marquee events are Green Umbrella’s Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit on Friday, June 12 and a Green & Healthy Schools Symposium on June 13, with organizers promising roughly 100 speakers, dozens of exhibitors, an art show, live performances and community-focused programming.
According to the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit, this 13th annual gathering returns to the Sharonville Convention Center on June 12, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day is set to feature around 100 speakers, poster sessions, an exhibitor expo and a networking reception. Breakout sessions will dig into topics that range from resilient local food systems to active transportation and infrastructure. Organizers bill it as the largest sustainability conference in the Midwest and expect hundreds of leaders from business, government, nonprofits and community groups to turn out.
The event listing on Green Umbrella spells out registration tiers, with general admission running roughly $65–$235 and a student rate available, along with exhibitor fees and venue details. The page notes the summit plans to host about 45 exhibitors and outlines economic inclusion options such as pay-what-you-can tickets and media passes for qualifying requests. Early registration periods come with discounted pricing for both attendees and exhibitors.
"The summit asks what it means not just to withstand disruption, but to adapt, evolve, and build systems that can thrive in the face of uncertainty," Green Umbrella’s Charlie Gonzalez told Cincinnati Magazine, framing the week around resilience and systems change rather than one-off fixes. The magazine’s coverage presents Cincinnati Climate Week as a way to connect block-level events with bigger-picture conversations, underscoring organizers’ focus on equity and practical, on-the-ground solutions instead of abstract warnings.
Summit And School Programs
The Green & Healthy Schools Symposium on June 13 will unfold at Cincinnati Public Schools’ Rockdale Academy & Learning Garden, bringing together educators, students and foodservice staff. The day will explore green schoolyards, garden-to-cafe programs and green career pathways. Brenda Kessler of the Children & Nature Network is slated to deliver the keynote address, and the schedule includes student displays alongside hands-on sessions. Details on the agenda, exhibitor registration and discounts for school staff are listed on Green Umbrella.
Part Of A Global Climate Week Network
Cincinnati Climate Week is presented by Green Umbrella in partnership with the Climate Week Network, which supports cities hosting localized Climate Weeks and provides a shared calendar and organizing tools. Through that partnership, local organizations can plug their events into a central schedule and tap into coordinated promotion and logistical guidance. Organizers say the model helps lift up smaller neighborhood gatherings alongside larger conferences and institutional programs so they share the same regional stage.
How To Attend Or Get Involved
Residents and organizations that want to host an event or browse the full lineup can head to the Cincinnati Climate Week calendar, where registration links, sponsorship opportunities and many summit-related details are collected. The full summit agenda is available through the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit. Organizers say volunteers, community ambassadors and partner groups are all welcome to help run events during the week, and inquiries about press credentials should be directed to Green Umbrella’s events team.
