A late-night walk in Flatbush turned into a bloody street attack early Saturday when a 40-year-old man was slashed and stabbed outside 2163 Tilden Avenue, according to police.

Authorities say that at about 12:53 a.m., an unidentified man walked up to the victim in front of the address, pulled a knife, and slashed the victim's right arm before stabbing his right leg. The attacker then took off on foot and has not been caught.

According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the department circulated a "WANTED FOR AN ASSAULT" alert that includes surveillance stills and a brief description of the incident. The post stresses that the suspect has not been identified and urges anyone with video, photos or information to reach out to investigators.

How investigators are asking for help

The NYPD is asking anyone who saw what happened, or who might have caught it on camera, to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or the Spanish-language line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tipsters can also file anonymous reports through the agency's Crime Stoppers portal. As noted on the NYPD Crime Stoppers site, information that leads to an arrest may qualify for a reward, and tips can also be sent via X to @NYPDTips.

Detectives are specifically asking neighbors who were in the area around the time of the assault to check any doorbell cameras or cellphone clips for images of the attacker that might help move the case forward.
