Promethazine Thefts Have Police on Alert
Liquid promethazine, often mixed with codeine to make what is commonly called "lean," has been a target in other robberies because of its value to people trying to make illicit mixtures, local reporting and federal prosecutors say. 1010 WINS and a U.S. Attorney’s Office press release have both documented earlier cases in the region. Old Broadway runs through West Harlem between West 131st and West 133rd Streets, putting the scene squarely inside the neighborhood mapped by the MTA.
