The confrontation unfolded around 9:45 p.m. on Friday, August 14, in front of 249 24th Street, a block sandwiched between 4th and 5th Avenues in South Brooklyn.

, the victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual when the confrontation turned violent. The attacker struck the victim in the head with an unknown object, then removed the man's wallet and his yellow metal chain, valued at approximately $800, police say. The suspect remains unidentified, and no arrests have been announced.
The address sits at a commercial storefront that has operated in the neighborhood since 1998 as Alma Driving School Inc., a New York State-licensed driver education business, according to Better Business Bureau records. The block is also a short walk from the 25th Street subway station on the R line and is served by the B63 and B37 bus routes, putting the scene along one of South Brooklyn's busier transit corridors where potential witnesses or surveillance footage could exist.
