A Monday morning shooting has put Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood back under the microscope after a man was found with gunshot wounds on Curtiss Court.
Police say officers were called around 8 a.m. to the 5700 block of Curtiss Court, where they found a man who had been shot. His condition has not been released, and detectives are still piecing together what led up to the gunfire.
According to Cleveland19, which first reported the incident, the shooting happened in the 5700 block of Curtiss Court, and police have not yet provided additional details about the victim. The initial report was written by Julia Thyret.
Neighborhood History and Context
Hough has a long history of economic disinvestment and episodes of unrest that continue to shape local public safety challenges, according to Case Western Reserve University’s Encyclopedia of Cleveland History. That backdrop helps explain why any new shooting in the neighborhood tends to draw close attention from residents and city officials alike.
