Gunfire cut into the Thursday morning routine in Jonestown, where Baltimore police say a shooting left at least one person injured after officers discovered a gunshot victim near East Lombard Street and Horseradish Lane. Detectives cordoned off the 1000 block of East Lombard while evidence technicians moved through the area, looking for shell casings and other clues.
As reported by FOX45, officers located the victim at the intersection, and crime-lab technicians were photographed working the scene. The station's images, credited to Maggie Ybarra, show investigators combing the block, and FOX45 said it was working to gather additional information from police.
Where it happened
Jonestown sits just east of downtown, a tight grid of rowhomes and small businesses that funnels traffic between the Inner Harbor and the city's eastern neighborhoods. The shooting on East Lombard highlights public-safety concerns near downtown even as citywide figures have shifted; The Baltimore Sun reported that 2025 saw the fewest homicides in the city in at least 50 years, though nonfatal shootings remain an ongoing issue.
How to help
The Baltimore Police Department asks anyone with information to contact Homicide Detectives at 410-396-2100 or submit tips anonymously to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP. Officials also encourage people who captured video or witnessed the incident to come forward so detectives can establish a clearer timeline.
What we still don't know
Police have not released details about the victim's condition, a suspect description, or whether anyone is in custody. FOX45 said it was working to gather more information, and police had not issued an update late Thursday morning.
