A Sunday drive on U.S. Highway 75 in Okmulgee County turned deadly when a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 55-year-old Henryetta woman, identified by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol as Rebecca Fisher.

Troopers said Fisher was heading south on Highway 75 when another vehicle pulled out from a business driveway on the west side of the highway near 321st Street and crossed into her path. The collision, reported around 3:21 p.m., caused Fisher's vehicle to roll into the grass median, where she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FOX23.

The other driver was not injured, and troopers said neither vehicle had any passengers.

Safety Work Underway On U.S. 75

The fatal crash comes as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation continues a series of safety upgrades along U.S. 75 in Okmulgee County. That work includes an interchange project at Preston Road that has traffic narrowed to one lane in each direction while construction continues. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says the project is designed to cut down on conflict points and improve safety on the busy corridor.

Investigation

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers confirmed Fisher's identity as a 55-year-old woman from Henryetta and said her vehicle rolled and came to rest in the grass median, where she was pronounced dead, FOX23 reported.

Troopers are still investigating the crash and have not released any additional details about what led up to the collision.
