In a fall press release, organizers opened ticket sales and outlined plans to "celebrate the Tournament’s 50th anniversary June 1-7" at Muirfield Village. The release details a new anniversary logo, special ticket offers, and limited-run commemorative items that will roll out in the lead-up to tournament week, including complimentary grounds access for youth and select service members. Those discounts and access programs are folded into the broader ticketing push, according to the Memorial Tournament.
Memorial Tournament director Dan Sullivan has told local reporters that while the first event was staged in 1976 and 2025 marked the tournament’s 50th playing, 2026 is being treated as the true 50th anniversary. "It is really exciting. We get an opportunity to recognize it twice," Sullivan said, noting that the operation leans on roughly 3,900 volunteers.
