Dublin is lining up for a blockbuster week at Muirfield Village as the Memorial Tournament rolls into its official 50th anniversary. Tournament week is set for June 1-7, 2026, and organizers say the milestone will spotlight decades of charity work, volunteer muscle, and Jack Nicklaus’s hometown imprint. Locals can expect fresh signage, anniversary merchandise, and events around Bridge Park that are meant to keep the focus as much on community as on the golf.
In a fall press release, organizers opened ticket sales and outlined plans to "celebrate the Tournament’s 50th anniversary June 1-7" at Muirfield Village. The release details a new anniversary logo, special ticket offers, and limited-run commemorative items that will roll out in the lead-up to tournament week, including complimentary grounds access for youth and select service members. Those discounts and access programs are folded into the broader ticketing push, according to the Memorial Tournament.
Memorial Tournament director Dan Sullivan has told local reporters that while the first event was staged in 1976 and 2025 marked the tournament’s 50th playing, 2026 is being treated as the true 50th anniversary. "It is really exciting. We get an opportunity to recognize it twice," Sullivan said, noting that the operation leans on roughly 3,900 volunteers. Two-time defending champion Scottie Scheffler is expected to return to defend, and the tournament has already accepted entries from headliners including Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, and Patrick Cantlay, according to CW Columbus.
Local Celebration, Charity And Memorabilia
The tournament’s charity work and fan-focused swag are front and center in the anniversary plans. The Bears for Children’s program is slated to return with limited-edition bears whose sales support the Memorial’s neonatal initiatives at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, according to the Memorial Tournament.
Visit Dublin minutes add that a special "Maltbie" bear will be offered at Dublin Market as part of the rollout. Those minutes also note that organizers are producing a 400-page commemorative book for patrons and installing 50th-anniversary signage around Bridge Park to connect the on-course celebration with local vendors and charities.
Course Tweaks And Presentation
Muirfield Village is still leaning on tradition, but small tweaks are geared toward sharper television shots and better views for fans. Tournament officials have installed a new tee complex on hole 15 and, as Sullivan put it, "hid the cart path" in front of the tee to create a cleaner look down the fairway without materially changing how the hole plays. Founder Jack Nicklaus continues to consult on course presentation and the overall fan experience, according to CW Columbus.
What To Watch During Tournament Week
During tournament week, fans can expect a blend of top-tier golf and community-centered activity: early-week practice rounds, family-friendly zones, limited-edition merchandise drops, and fundraising tied to Nationwide Children’s. From marquee groups on the weekend to the volunteer army working the ropes and concessions, the Memorial functions as much like a local festival as it does a PGA Tour Signature Event. The PGA course listing for Muirfield Village underscores why the club holds its spot on the Tour schedule and remains a centerpiece of Dublin’s calendar, as noted by PGA.
