Journey is officially penciling Denver into its long goodbye. The rock veterans have added a Mile High stop to their "Final Frontier" farewell tour, landing at Ball Arena on Nov. 22. The expanded fall leg is set to open Sept. 12 in Los Angeles and culminate with a San Francisco homecoming later that month, with the Denver date arriving as part of the freshly announced run. The news dropped this week alongside a wave of presale and public on-sale details.
According to 9NEWS, the new fall shows include the Nov. 22 Denver stop at Ball Arena and are being marketed as part of the farewell stretch. The outlet noted that the additional dates arrived as the band touted crowd reactions on the current leg, with the response apparently strong enough to justify one more spin through major arenas.
Final Frontier expansion and what the band said
Presented by AEG, the fall extension tacks on 40 shows and begins Sept. 12 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles before wrapping Nov. 28 at Chase Center in San Francisco, according to The Music Universe. The outlet quotes guitarist Neal Schon reflecting on the crowds so far: "The energy has been incredible every night. Seeing these crowds sing these songs with us after all these years has been powerful."
The Music Universe also lists the touring lineup for the Final Frontier run as Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Arnel Pineda, Deen Castronovo, Jason Derlatka, and Todd Jensen.
Tickets and presales
Citi cardmembers will get first crack at tickets with a presale scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. local time. General public on-sale begins on Friday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
Ticketmaster is advertising a slate of VIP packages for the tour and again urging buyers to stick with authorized sellers to avoid scalper scams. With the farewell label attached, lower-bowl and floor seats are expected to be among the first to vanish once the sales window opens.
What Denver fans should expect
Ball Arena will host the Nov. 22 show and lists its address as 1000 Chopper Circle, with ticketing information and venue rules posted on its site, including details on digital ticketing and entry procedures via Ball Arena. For concert setups, the building holds roughly 21,000 people, according to the technical specifications on Wikipedia.
With a national farewell tour behind the marquee, demand in Denver is expected to be heavy, and fans who care about snagging specific sections or views would be wise to map out their ticket strategy before presales kick in.
