Houston flyers hustling through George Bush Intercontinental Airport are in for another local caffeine fix. Katz Coffee, the hometown roaster travelers already spot in Terminal D, is slated to open a new outpost inside the reimagined Terminal B food row this fall. The shop will line up alongside Protein Bar & Kitchen, Jersey Mike’s and Smashburger in a multi-operator concessions build-out clustered around the BNW gates, according to construction paperwork filed with state regulators.

Permit shows project cost, size and schedule

A permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows Baldi Management Group registered a "BMG Concessions Fitout" at 3100 N Terminal Rd that names Katz Coffee among four tenant operators. The TDLR record lists an estimated cost of $3.5 million, a scope of roughly 9,647 square feet and a project number of TABS2026018883. The filing also lays out a construction window running from July 15, 2026 to October 22, 2026.

Part of a multibillion-dollar Terminal B overhaul

The concessions fit-out is one slice of United Airlines' sweeping Terminal B transformation at IAH, a roughly $2.5–$2.6 billion redevelopment intended to add gates, upgrade baggage systems and modernize passenger amenities. As reported by the Houston Chronicle, the Terminal B project is a central piece of United's long-term investment in its Houston hub.

Katz Coffee's local roots and airport footprint

Katz Coffee launched in 2003 under founder Avi Katz and has grown into a regional small-batch roaster that focuses on organic and fair-trade beans. The Katz Coffee website says the company is "fueling communities across the nation with a whole lot of Liquid Love." For airport regulars, the brand is already a familiar sight: Katz Coffee & Bistro operates in Terminal D at IAH, according to the Houston Airport System's coffee guide.

Who’s handling the fit-out

The TDLR filing lists Baldi Management Group (BMG) as the tenant and Beckmann Architects as the design firm, with Houston Airport System named as the facility owner. Tenant spaces are labeled BNW-6, BNW-7, BNW-7B and BNW-7C and are slated to form part of a new concessions zone and general seating area inside the Terminal B addition.

When travelers can expect the new shops

If renovations stay on track, the four operators are expected to be serving passengers by this fall, according to What Now Houston. The outlet also noted it reached out to Katz for comment and did not hear back by publication time, so travelers will have to wait for the airport or operators to confirm exact opening dates as the build-out moves ahead.
